Talented Athletes' Funding

 

Kent FANS Scheme The FANS scheme is for athletes of all ages who currently perform or compete at a National level, and who live in Kent (excluding the Kent London Boroughs). The scheme aims to provide support and encouragement to talented and elite sports performers, and provides them with free access to a number of Kent's sports facilities for personal training and development, as well as other benefits such as physiotherapy, kit and equipment discounts; access to small individual grants; Sport Science support Further information on the scheme and the full range of benefits can be found at https://kentsport.org/get-active/sport-performance/fans-scheme/ 

Local Authority Community Initiatives and Talented Athlete Scholarships Many Local Authorities and Districts Councils provide small grant schemes for talented athletes. Contact your local authority and ask to speak to their Sports Development Officer. They will be able to tell you if there is any scheme in place and how to apply. SportsAid SportsAid at both national and regional level provides assistance to aspiring sportsmen and women, between the ages of 12 and 18 years. An example of Grant Funding is support to a talented young athlete with club affiliation fees, equipment, insurance, travel and training costs. Website www.sportsaid.org.uk
