Performance pathway in Kent
Kent Netball Academies are a fundamental part of the England Netball (EN) Pathway and form part of the talent identification process.
The aim of the Academies is to give players the quality individual coaching support they need, educating players on how to train with regards to fitness, skills work and goal setting, as well as many other aspects necessary to become an elite athlete.
Kent Netball currently delivers Satellite and County Academies in line with the current EN Pathway, and additional U12 Academies.
New for 2018-19
England Netball recently carried out a review of county academy structures to assess whether they represented the most effective means of preparing young netballers. Following the review England Netball concluded that the continuation of the county & satellite programs is a critical component of the netball pathway.
However, the pathway will have new age groupings of U15 and U13 Academies, instead of Satellite and County Academies, with the Superleague Franchises providing Academy opportunities at U17 and U19 level.
Kent Netball plans to adopt the new age groupings from September 2018 to prepare for the new structure when it officially begins in
2019-20. Click here for information on the trial process for the Kent Academy programme
Note: As Year 7 athletes are included in the U13 Academies there will not be U12 Academies in 2018-19
