Sheila has been awarded two major achievements this year.

The first was that she completed her UKCC level 3 coaching award in January. She said it was hard work but she learnt a great deal and would like to say a big thank you to all who helped her, from players turning out for the DVD sessions to her mentor Denise Holland who was always very positive in her role
The second came last month when Sheila was presented with a life time achievement for netball award by the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling on behalf of the council. Mandy Palmer, the chair of Maidstone and Malling nominated her for this award as she has been connected with the league for over 40 years as a player, umpire, coach and running a large club. Sheila was chair of the league for 10 years and set up the junior league. She was also heavily involved in the project for the new courts in Aylesford heading up the lottery bid of over £165K and raising in total nearly £450K

Our congratulations to all the girls, and Anita, on their success. And we wish them all the best for the next season!

Regional Talent Festival

On 1st March the EN L&SE Region held a Festival for all the girls involved in the Academies from all the four counties in the Region. It was an extremely successful day and a great celebration of the talent in the London and South East Region.

Kent took 7 squads to the day and all competed extremely well, playing some very skillful and versatile netball. It showed the hard work that both the girls and coaches have put into their training since the start of the season.

Sport for all: going for gold in Medway...
Medway Council are holding an exhibition of Medway's rich sporting heritage at The Guildhall in Rochester. It is interesting in the reference to Dartford/Madame Osterburg’s College where Netball first started in U.K. as well as a pre 2012 focus. Apparently the gymslip was first designed by a student at the College for participation in Sport! The exhibition runs until 29th March 2009.
